DESIGN BACKSTORY

Inspired by Dr Olivia Lanes of IBM Quantum this is just a picture showing the energy states of an anharmonic oscillator that can be used to create qubits by isolating the two lowest energy states from every other. Really just an excuse to make a caffeine – related “joke” whilst tying in Circuit Quantum Electrodynamics (CQEDs), but not cavities in microwave ovens! We’ll leave the true quantum gurus to please correct our (mis)interpretation.
