As we listened to Professor Daniel Whiteson interview of Dr Jill Tarter (co-founder of SETI and inspiration of the Dr Ellie Arroway character in the film adaptation of Carl Sagan’s book “Contact”) a comment she made regarding us all being Earthlings first resonated with us in regard to our Alltheus brand ethos in the context of the upcoming Christmas season and the recent COP26 conference.
“Nationalism is an infantile disease. It is the measles of mankind.”
Far more unites all of us (AllTheUs) on Earth than divides us. It may be some years since LUCA (Last Universal Common Ancestor) kicked life off on our little blue dot but we are still all fundamentally Earthlings, some of us are even human!
We have many wicked problems to solve so lets ensure we unite as many intelligent, passionate and capable people to help solve them. Visiting non-Earthlings or our distant, much-reduced descendants should not have to open up Earth’s Black Box to find out why we didn’t avoid disaster.
The good Earth—we could have saved it, but we were too damn cheap and lazy.
