DESIGN BACKSTORY

Like Marcel Proust with his madeleine cake will a leaf or twig of picture of one soon evoke keen memories of things past?

We mark the UN International Day of Forests annually (21 March) but we must work everyday to ensure that our children can enjoy these invaluable ecosystems. We need to reduce monoculture and deforestation activity as well as seek to regrow forests to counter the loss of diversity.

 QUOTES:

“We do not inherit the Earth from our ancestors, we borrow it from our children” Chief Seattle

“Trees are poems that the earth writes upon the sky. We cut them down and turn them into paper that we may record our emptiness” Kahlil Gibran
